About

Minnie Mossop, PhD

Founder & Early Childhood Consultant

Hi, I’m Minnie.

I’m an early childhood educator, consultant, and parent educator with a deep love for babies, young children, and the adults who care for them.
CDA Baby Solutions grew from my belief that early development is shaped through everyday relationships, caregiving moments, and the environments in which children grow.

I have worked as an early childhood educator and supported families and children in a range of roles, including hands-on ECE practice, across three different countries. Learning alongside families and educators in different cultural and community contexts has deeply shaped how I understand children, caregiving, and early learning.

Today, I work independently with parents, early childhood educators, organizations, and communities. I offer consultations, workshops, and learning experiences that are relationship-based, developmentally grounded, and responsive to real life. My work supports families and professionals in Vancouver, across Canada, and internationally.

My approach is family-centred and relational. I see parents and educators as knowledgeable and capable, and I believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution. My role is to walk alongside you, share evidence-informed knowledge, and support confidence-building in ways that feel respectful, realistic, and sustainable.

I have worked in the early childhood field for over 20 years, across direct practice, leadership, teaching, and consulting roles. I hold a Doctorate in Infant and Early Childhood Development (PhD), a Master’s degree in Infant and Early Childhood Development (MA), and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education (MEd).

Alongside my consulting work, I am a faculty member and program coordinator in the Early Childhood Education program at Douglas College, where I support and mentor future educators.

I am also an active member of professional organizations, including the Western Canada Association of Infant Mental Health, the Collaborative for Understanding the Pedagogy for Infant/Toddler Development, the Association of Professional Sleep Consultants, and the International Association of Infant Massage.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief:
children thrive when the adults around them feel supported, informed, and confident.
I feel grateful to work alongside families and educators as they navigate early development, caregiving, and learning together.

Supporting babies, children, and the adults who care for them is at the heart of my work. Here’s what families and caregivers have shared about their experiences with baby sleep support, parenting coaching, and workshops.

As a first-time mom, I often felt overwhelmed by the amount of conflicting advice around parenting and sleep. I wanted to follow an attachment-based approach, but after many sleepless nights, I wasn’t sure what to do. From the beginning, Minnie made me feel heard and supported.

She took the time to really listen, gently clarified my understanding of attachment, and guided me with both knowledge and care. Her calm presence and deep understanding of babies helped our whole family relax. Chad’s sleep improved significantly, and so did our confidence as parents. I truly felt supported every step of the way.

When our second child struggled with sleep, a friend who is an early childhood educator recommended Minnie. From our first conversation, we could tell how experienced and knowledgeable she was. Minnie was calm, thoughtful, and incredibly supportive.

With her guidance, Paxton began sleeping through the night, and I felt much more confident and reassured as a parent. Knowing we had someone experienced supporting us made a huge difference.

Before working with Minnie, I was exhausted and overwhelmed. My baby was waking frequently, and I felt unsure of myself as a parent. Minnie’s support completely changed that.

She was incredibly knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and reassuring. She didn’t just help with sleep; she helped me feel calmer and more confident. I felt supported, understood, and guided throughout the process. I only wish I had known about her sooner.

Sleep felt like an impossible challenge for our six-month-old. We were constantly rocking, nursing, or carrying him to sleep. Minnie approached our situation with so much calm, experience, and understanding.

Within a short time, our son was able to fall asleep on his own, and Minnie remained consistently supportive and responsive throughout the process. Her knowledge and reassurance helped us relax and trust the process. We are incredibly grateful.

After moving to a new area, we felt unsettled, and our baby’s sleep quickly became the biggest challenge. Minnie’s support was exactly what we needed. She carefully reviewed our situation, explained things clearly, and helped us understand routines, sleep environments, and our baby’s needs.

Her guidance was thoughtful and realistic, and she supported us with patience and care. Within days, we saw meaningful improvement. More importantly, we felt calmer and supported as parents.

We attended Minnie’s baby sleep workshop while preparing for our first baby. From the beginning, she was warm, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable. The session felt relaxed, supportive, and informative.

Minnie answered our questions thoughtfully and shared practical insights that helped us feel more prepared and confident. We left feeling reassured and supported, and we would absolutely reach out to her again.
